A performer, songwriter, and early-literacy advocate behind both Sing With Our Kids and nancymusic
Nancy Stewart has been a professional musician since she was fifteen. After years of touring with a national band as a lead guitarist and vocalist, she left nightclub work behind and began singing with her own children, then with many more children, and eventually with the adults who care for them.
Over time her work increasingly focused on the connection between music and early literacy, which led to workshops for teachers and librarians and to websites that make songs and materials easy to use, share, and adapt.
How This Site Fits With nancymusic
Nancy began `nancymusic.com` in 2001 as her artist website, with a free downloadable song each month and accompanying materials. Sing With Our Kids takes that work in a more community-facing direction, with a stronger emphasis on traditional songs, family literacy, and practical pathways for parents, teachers, librarians, and local organizations.
Both sites share the same mission: make songs and materials easy to use, share, and adapt for anyone who sings with children.

Why Sing With Our Kids Exists
Anyone can use these materials to create their own Sing With Our Kids program in a family, school, library, or community. The point is not just to consume content, but to give adults enough confidence, language, and tools to start singing more with children right away.
