Teacher leading children

Resources that make planning story time, circle time, and family engagement easier

These are not abstract audience pages. They are working notes for people who need songs, books, printables, and literacy framing they can use right away in classrooms, story times, and family events.

“I find picture book titles on the bookshelf based on those songs, and read a book that sings every day during circle time. The parents love being a part of their children’s day at school.”

Teachers and Care Providers

  • Download songs from the song library and post song posters so families can sing the same songs at home.
  • Use free activity pages to extend songs into other areas of learning.
  • Share early-learning and music information with staff and parents.
  • Use books that sing and send families toward library copies and take-home extensions.
  • Hold monthly sing-alongs or seasonal family events using community-planning tools.

Librarians

  • Use at least one book that sings in every story time.
  • Build displays of books based on traditional songs so families can check them out immediately.
  • Train story-time parents to use posters and the website to reinforce songs at home.
  • Use felt pieces, song kits, and community outreach tools to extend beyond story time.
  • Share early-literacy information so singing feels purposeful, not optional.
