Plastic Egg Shakers

A simple shaker children can fill, decorate, sort, and play.

Materials

Plastic Easter eggs
Rice or barley for filling; try different fillings and compare sounds
Hot glue gun and hot glue

Instructions

Put a couple of tablespoons of rice or another filling in the bottom half of the egg. Run a bead of hot glue along the inside edge of the top half. Carefully place the top on straight and tight.

Comments: Larger eggs are fun. If you use eggs the size of real eggs, store them in egg cartons painted to match the egg colors so children can sort them when putting them away.
