This is a traditional finger play which I have put to a melody to. It is always a hit with children five and under. There is something irresistible about the anticipation of going from slow to fast! You can enhance this by singing quietly, almost secretively on the slow parts. It's great for building listening skills, following directions, vocabulary for babies, and of course, rhythm. Of course the most important thing is that it's FUN! This is one of those ridiculously simple songs you can pull out on days when nothing seems to be working. As usual, simple is best!
