Song of the Month · 2008

Directions For Simple Props Print and cut out the 2 pages of pictures for use in this song. They can be laminated or glued to card stock to make them sturdier. Place them in a box a little larger than the pictures, but not so large that they move around too much. Tape or glue a mirror in the bottom of the box. (you will be holding up the box at the end of the song, so children can see themselves). If you are using this song for Valentine's Day, you may want to decorate the outside of the box with hearts, or just wrap it in red or pink paper. As you sing or play the recorded song, take each picture out of the box as the lyrics indicate. When you get to the ending, you can hold up the box so children can see themselves in the mirror. Additional ideas: You can back the pictures with felt, or the loop side of hook and loop tape (Velcro), and place them on you felt board as you sing. At the end, talk about the pictures as you read the words below. Ask what letter each word begins with. And finally, ask children to share some of the things they love. Of course, you can sing your own version of the song using those ideas. not very big

Lyrics

I have a little box, it's not very big

It's filled with things I love

I'll take a look inside and see if I can find

Something that you love

Do you love elephants?

Do you love doggies too?

Do you love kitty cats?

If you love dinosaurs, tell me that you do!

Do you love apples?

Do you love bananas too?

Do you love ice cream?

If you love pickles, tell me that you do!

Someone that you love

I think I see someone that you love!
