Here's a fun little song about donuts (also spelled doughnouts), which are enjoying a current boost in popularity with young children right now. Print out the accompanying book to read and sing. The lyrics offer examples of rhyming, alliteration (building phonological awareness in early literacy), and informal American speech (whaddya, and eatin'). Children understand these words, but for ESL students it offers a less formal but typical experience with the English language.
