Sometimes the simplest songs are the most fun! I came up with this little ditty for the 2013 National Summer Reading Theme, 'Dig into Reading.' My plan was to have a clear container of sand with some small objects buried in it, and pull one out each time I sing the song. But when I was first singing it I was in my daughter's living room watching my grandchildren (2 1/2 and 4 1/2). So I just picked up a random object within reach (like a book, or a toy). The kids thought it was hilarious and pretty soon we were taking turns 'finding' anything and everything in the room!
